Canon Announces RF 16mm f/2.8 and RF 100-400mm Lenses

Along with the Canon EOS R3 ($5999 at Amazon | B&H Photo | Adorama) mirrorless cameras, Canon also announced the RF 16mm f/2.8 USM Lens and RF 100-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM Lens.

The RF 100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM will be available this month for $649. As with the 100-400mm, you’ll be able to pick up the 16mm F2.8 STM later this month. The lens is priced at $299. Best Canon RF Lenses

According to Canon Official Weibo (The Chinese Twitter), Canon will have a new product announcement on September 14th at 6:00 am EDT. We cna clearly expect the company to announce the new Canon EOS R3 mirrorless camera, RF 16mm f/2.8 USM lens and RF 100-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM lens and some accessories for this major announcement.

Canon to Announce RF 16mm f/2.8 and RF 100-400mm Lenses Soon

Looks like Canon will soon announce new lenses for the RF mount. One of them might come with the form factor of a pancake lens.

Nokishita reports that an RF 16mm f/2.8 lens and an RF 100-400mm lens. Designed for Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless system, both lenses are expected to be announced soon.

The Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 lens is also a non-L prime lens which has not appeared on the roadmap until now. This lens is probably for a full-frame sensor, but it may also be a very useful wide-angle lens for APS-C cameras. The RF 16mm f/2.8 might be a pancake lens.

Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 and RF 70-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM Lenses Coming Soon

Along with the RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM lens, Canon will allegedly announce two RF lenses in the near future. These optics would be the RF 16mm f/2.8 and RF 70-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM lenses.

The Canon RF 70-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM lens is a non-L lens. The aperture of the Canon RF 70-400mm lens has not yet been confirmed, but it is rumored for F5.6-7.1.
