Here are the latest Canon firmware updates for the EOS R3, R5, R5 Mark II, R6, R6 Mark II, R8, R10, R50, R100.

A lot of the updates are bug fixes and a few cameras received support for the LP-E6P.

Canon firmware updates for the Canon EOS R6, EOS R6 Mark II, and EOS R7.

EOS R6 Mark II Firmware Version 1.1.2

  • Improved the stability of touch operation control when touch operation is set to “sensitive”.
  • Fixed the phenomenon that only one battery may be charged when the Battery Grip BG-R10 is attached.

EOS R6 Firmware Version 1.8.2

  • Improved the stability of touch operation control when touch operation is set to “sensitive”.
  • Fixed minor bugs.

EOS R7 Firmware Version 1.3.1

  • Improved the stability of touch operation control when touch operation is set to “sensitive”.

Canon Firmware Updates for 5D Mark IV V1.4.0, 6D Mark II V1.2.0, T7 V1.2.0

Canon released the new firmware update Version 1.4.0 for EOS 5D Mark IV, firmware update Version 1.2.0 for EOS 6D Mark II and firmware update Version 1.2.0 for EOS Rebel T7 DSLR cameras.

This firmware change includes the following enhancements:

Canon EOS C70 Firmware Version 1.0.6.1 Now Available

The new Canon Cinema EOS C70 Firmware Version 1.0.6.1 is now available for download at Canon USA official site. This is a minor firmware update, not the planned feature update recently announced by Canon.

Firmware Version 1.0.6.1 incorporates the following enhancements:

  1. Fixes a problem that was a rare cause of instability in operation when using the control ring of the lens or adapter.

Two More Features Coming To The Canon EOS R5 via Firmware

Canon released firmware v1.8.1 for the Canon EOS R5 last week. The big feature added was Canon’s first implementation of “pixel-shift” called IBIS High-Resolution shooting.

According to recent Canon rumors, new firmware updates are coming for EOS R5. It was suggested that there would be 2 more feature updates for the Canon EOS R5 before the end of 2023. With the final version being 2.0.

Canon releases firmware v1.0.3.1 for the Canon EOS R5 C

Canon has released new firmware for the Canon EOS R5 C. Canon is touting improved image quality for C-Log 3 when shooting AVC or MP4.

Firmware Version 1.0.3.1 incorporates the following enhancements:

  1. Improves the image quality of Canon Log 3 when shooting in XF-AVC or MP4 formats.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Firmware Update Version 1.7.1 Released

Canon has released the new firmware version 1.7.1 for the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera that fixes several issues.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Firmware Update Version 1.7.1 incorporates the following fixes:

  • [Save/load communication settings to card] has been added to the menu. Network settings can now be inherited between cameras of the same model.
  • You can now trim and resize images while transferring them to the FTP server.
  • Corrected the phenomenon that some cameras that meet certain conditions may not turn on immediately after updating to firmware version 1.7.0.
  • Fixed minor bugs.

New Firmware Updates Released : Canon EOS R3 V1.4.0 & EOS R5 V1.8.1

Canon released new firmware updates for the Canon EOS R3 and Canon EOS R5. Canon firmware updates for the Canon EOS R3 version 1.4.0 and  Canon EOS R5 version 1.8.1 now available for download.  You can find all the details and download link below.

Canon EOS R3 firmware 1.4.0 (download):

  • Compatible with Speedlite EL-5. *It is not compatible with the automatic dimming function of the AF auxiliary light.
  • Added [Registered people priority] to the menu. Pre-registered people can now be preferentially detected and tracked.
    • * The effect may not be obtained depending on the shooting environment and scenes where the subject is moving, such as when the face is small, when the face is slanted/side profile, when part of the face is hidden, or when the subject is moving.
  • [Save/load communication settings to card] has been added to the menu. Network settings can now be inherited between cameras of the same model.
  • [Panning Assist] has been added to the menu. When panning with a compatible lens, “camera shake correction” and “subject blur correction” are performed during exposure.
  • Shortened the time it takes for the AWB results to be reflected in the viewfinder when looking through the viewfinder with the auto white balance (AWB) setting.
  • “Image protection” for FTP transfer has been added to the menu. Images transferred by FTP can now be automatically protected. This makes it possible to determine whether or not the image has been FTP-transferred.
  • Fixed minor bugs.

Canon EOS R5 firmware version 1.8.1 (download):

  • [IBIS High-Resolution Shooting] has been added to the menu. By utilizing the in-body image stabilization mechanism, it is now possible to record images with a higher sense of resolution.
  • [Save/load communication settings to card] has been added to the menu. Network settings can now be inherited between cameras of the same model.
  • You can now trim and resize images while transferring them to the FTP server.
  • “Image protection” for FTP transfer has been added to the menu. Images transferred by FTP can now be automatically protected. This makes it possible to determine whether or not the image has been FTP-transferred.
  • Fixed minor bugs.
