Canon To Announce 4 Wide-angle L-grade Primes For RF Mount

Here is a fresh Canon rumor. Canon is on the verge to announce four L-grade prime lenses for the RF mount within the next 12 months. As a reminder RF L-series lenses represent the very best in optical technology with faster performance and a whole new level of quality.

These are the rumored lenses:

  • Canon RF 12mm f/1.8L USM

  • Canon RF 24mm f/1.4L USM
  • Canon RF 28mm f/1.4L USM
  • Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM

Since we have already confirmed that RF 135mm f/1.8L USM lens will be announced soon, first of these Canon lenses could be the RF 24mm f/1.4L USM lens. Stay tuned for more info.

Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM Lens Delayed Until 2023

The fast prime lens got another mention in the rumor mill. According to latest rumors, the long awaited Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM lens now delayed again. As a result you may not see this lens until in 2023. Latest rumors said this lens will be announced along with two other RF L prime optics in 2023.

Since we have already confirmed that RF 135mm f/1.8L USM lens will be announced in the Q4 of 2022, so the other Canon lenses could be the RF 24mm f/1.4L USM lens and another wide angle L prime lens. Stay tuned for more info.

Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM Lens to be Announced in Q3 of 2022

Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM Lens rumored to be Announced in Q3 of 2022. The fast prime lens got a new mention in the rumor mill. Actually there is no doubt Canon will eventually release this lens, sooner or later.

It is still unclear whether it will be F1.2 or F1.4, but considering the lineup so far, it seems that the possibility of F1.2 is high. We know that the company filed Canon patents for both models. These Canon lenses were the RF 35mm f/1.2L, 35mm f/1.4L, 28mm f/1.2L and 24mm f/1.2L. Looks like either the f/1.2 or f/1.4 will go in mass production this Summer.

It’s suggested that the lens is already in the “hands of testers and marketing folks and recently appeared in an internal dealer roadmap”.
