Canon EOS R8, EOS R50 to be Announced on February 8th

Canon will soon announce the Canon EOS R8 and Canon EOS R50 along with two new kit lenses. The previous rumored Canon EOS R8, EOS R50 and two kit lenses now confirmed. These new products will be officially announced on February 8th, 2023 ahead of CP+ Show 2023 in late February.

Canon EOS R8

  • Will be body only or kitted with the Canon RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM

Canon EOS R50

  • Possibly two colors for the body
  • Kitted with Canon RF-S 18-45 f/4.5-6.3 IS STM & Canon RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM
  • US Price: $679 Body Only (USD)
  • US Price: $1029 with both the Canon RF-S 18-45 f/4.5-6.3 IS STM & Canon RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM

Canon RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM

  • The entry level RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM will be a diminutive and light-weighted lens.

Rumors : Canon EOS R8 to be Announced Soon at CP+ 2023

According to latest Canon rumors, the upcoming Canon EOS R8 mirrorless camera will be announced around CP+ 2023 in February. This EOS R8 will be an APS-C RF mount model and sit between the EOS R7 and EOS R10

In terms of specs, Canon EOS R8 is said to feature with same 24.2MP APS-C sensor as on EOS R10. On the other hand EOS R8 will take on a bit of a different form factor and will have a new kind of “flippy screen”.

There will be other new products to be announced ahead of CP+ 2023. So stay tuned for more information.

Rumors : New Canon Camera Between R7 & R10, EOS R8/R9?

According to latest Canon rumors, Canon is planning to announce a new APS-C EOS R camera soon. This camera could be named EOS R8 or EOS R9 and position between EOS R7 and EOS R10.

Canon EOS R8/EOS R9 could possibly see the omission of a built-in viewfinder. Currently not other specs is available yet.  Here are the details ;

[…] latest bit of information […] is a new camera body coming that will fit between the Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R10 in the lineup from a price standpoint. We don’t think that this is going to be a similar product placement as we had seen with DSLRs and the EOS 77D. We think that the EOS R8/EOS R9 (guessing on the name) will have a different form factor and could possibly see the omission of a built-in viewfinder, but those are just guesses at this point.

New Canon EOS R8 Rumors

Here are some new updates on the Canon EOS R8 rumors. Canon might release the replacement for the EOS R (save $200) towards the end of 2022 or early 2023.

While it is mentioned that this camera will be the EOS R Mark II, it is also said to be called the EOS R8. In other words, when it comes to a possible EOS R replacement, it should be taken into account that it may be an EOS R8 according to Canon’s product numbering structurdailye.

According to the latest rumors, Canon’s new generation of mirrorless camera EOS R Mark II prototypes are already in wild. One of the prototypes uses a Digic X image processor and a 30.3-megapixel CMOS sensor just like the one found in the EOS R7 and EOS R10. Rumor Updates on Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP and M50 Mark II Successors

According to latest rumors, the next batch of announcements includes Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP, and Canon EOS M50 Mark II successors.

Of course this year’s main focus is the Canon EOS R1 which is rumored to be in testing. On the other hand it is being said that the company is also working to update several other models such as Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP and M50 Mark II.

If everything goes under schedule, the successors will arrive at the end of 2022 or just in the beginning of 2023. As expected these Canon cameras would be the EOS R Mark II, EOS RP Mark II and M50 Mark III. Stay tuned for more information.

According to recent Canon rumors, the camera giant will definitely release at least one APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera in 2022. Currently, there is no information about new APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera will be an EOS R7 or just an RF mount EOS M mirrorless camera.

Canon BSI APS-C EOS R Camera Coming in the Second Half of 2022

According to latest rumors, Canon is working on a new APS-C RF mount camera which is expected to be released in the second half of 2022.

Canon APS-C EOS R mirrorless camera will feature a backside-illuminated sensor. The resolution of this APS-c sensor is unknown at this time, but we expect it to have 28MP-32MP. This new BSI APS-C RF mount camera will probably be the long-awaited Canon EOS R7.

Rumors About Canon EOS R7, EOS R8 & EOS R9 APS-C Mirrorless Cameras

Canon is rumored to announce three new APS-C format RF mount mirrorless cameras. This rumor is about possible  Canon EOS R7, EOS R8 & EOS R9 that will arrive in the next 1-2 years:.

Canon EOS R7: The first Canon RF mount camera with an APS-C image sensor. It is already undergoing testing in the field by a select group of photographers. The official announcement will come as soon as Q4 of 2021, or Q1 in 2022. The source claims that the Canon EOS R7 APS-C RF mount camera will be “directly aimed at sports, wildlife and videography”, to replace the Canon EOS 7D Mark II? And this Canon EOS R7 is rumored to have a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC X Image Processor, 5-Axis IBIS and UHD 4K60p & Full HD 120p video and more.

Canon EOS R8: The second Canon APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera. This camera will be designed for vloggers and other types of social media creators.

Canon EOS R9: The third Canon APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera. This will be the entry-level camera to the EOS R system.

Of course, these are just rumors and we cannot claim that all these models will be implemented yet. The previous rumor said that Canon will stop spending more resources developing Canon EOS M series cameras and 2021 will be the last year for Canon EOS M series cameras. This information is still not verified by reliable sources so take this information with a pinch of salt.
