Canon is planning to announce the new super-telephoto lenses in 2022. In addition to the previously reported RF 400mm f/4 DO IS Extender 1.4x, RF 600mm f/4 IS Extender 1.4x, Canon filed a new patent for RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM and RF 300-800mm f/8 IS USM Lenses.

Canon RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM Lens
This new Canon RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM Lens wil be the successor to the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM 1.4x. And this RF 200-500mm is likely to be different in size because the telephoto end is 100mm longer than the EF version. With this, if a 1.4x telephoto lens is built in, the super-telephoto range is likely to become an extremely versatile lens that can handle most shooting with this one lens.
